Meet Erickson
Hello Neighbor,
I am Erickson Saye. My wife, our two daughters, and I are proud Brooklyn Park residents. I was raised in the Northwest Suburbs in a proud Liberian-American household.
After graduating college, I returned back home to Brooklyn Park to support the diversity and vibrancy of our community. I worked for the DFL party, where I managed the field operations for the Northwest Suburbs. My team and I worked to increase voter turnout and civically engage New Americans that led to the election of leaders like, Governor Tim Walz, Senator Tina Smith, and Attorney General Keith Ellison. In addition to supporting our statewide leaders, we supported our local champions such as Speaker Melissa Hortman, Senator John Hoffman, and more.
Following the historic 2018 election, I joined Governor Tim Walz’s administration as his Public Engagement Liaison, helping expand outreach efforts statewide and advance his vision of “One Minnesota.” After my time in the Governor’s Office, I returned to what I love most—civic engagement. I became the Public Policy Director at Minnesota Voice, a nonprofit dedicated to increasing civic participation and voter engagement across the state.
Motivated to expand the impact of my advocacy, I moved to Chicago to pursue a dual degree in law and public policy, earning both a Juris Doctor and a Master’s in Public Policy. After completing my studies, I returned home to Brooklyn Park to start my family and begin my legal career. Today, I am proud to serve as a Prosecutor in Hennepin County, where I bring my community organizing experience into the courtroom to uphold justice and accountability for the people we serve.
The throughlines of my journey have been perseverance and a commitment to public service. This is why today, I am running for the Minnesota House. I believe every child deserves the opportunity to succeed, every family deserves security, and every voice in our community deserves to be heard. With lived experience, legal training, and a strong background in grassroots organizing, I’m ready to fight for you—and for every neighbor in District 34B.
